Râsu’-plânsu’ Interventions Solo exhibition by Aga Łuczakowska
Opening: 23.10.2026 CDRF, Bucharest
Râsu’-plânsu’ Interventions expands on my photographic book Râsu’-plânsu’, treating it not as a fixed publication but as a space for material intervention. The project is rooted in Nicolae Ceaușescu’s systematisation program (1974–1989) and the informal ways residents adapted standardised apartment blocks to make them their own - enclosing balconies, marking boundaries, personalising shared space. It draws a parallel with my own negotiation with the book’s physical form, treating my privately owned copy as a surface for drawing, covering, cutting, and adding - a structure I can inhabit and transform.
The exhibition presents photographs from the book, Aga’s interventions on the book, alongside interventions by invited artists (such as Bogusław Bachorczyk, Bartosz Nowicki, Jagoda Malanin, Guido Van Damme, Răzvan Neagoe) and readers who have engaged with their own copies as part of the ongoing project archive.
A workshop led by Aga Łuczakowska will accompany the exhibition - more details to follow soon.
