Creative potential of limitations

Online workshop for emerging photographers, artists, and visual storytellers

Based on my own experience working under various limitations- such as balancing a full-time non-photography job with photography, creating projects while traveling, and working with very minimal equipment- I developed the idea for a short workshop focused on how constraints can become a creative tool rather than an obstacle.

The workshop explores how limitations can shape and strengthen creative practice, supported by examples from artists across different fields who have successfully worked within constraints.

Applying for Photography Open Calls & Scholarships

Online workshop for emerging photographers and anyone interested in learning how to apply for photography opportunities.

This workshop is focused on the practical process of applying for open calls and scholarships. It covers where to find relevant opportunities, how to evaluate them, and how to prepare a strong application.

We look at how to write a clear project statement, how to present your work, and how to select and sequence photographs for submission. The aim is to understand what makes an application coherent and competitive, and how to translate a photographic project into a written and visual proposal.

The workshop is based on my experience applying to international open calls, exhibitions, fellowships, and scholarship programs. My work has been selected for numerous exhibitions, publications, awards, and prestigious international open calls, including the 2025 Der Greif Face-to-Face Award & Artist Feature (special portfolio feedback edition with guest curators Felix Hoffmann, Mona Schubert, and Marit Lena Herrmann) and the 2025 Dear Dave Fellowship, where my portfolio was recognized among the top 40 submissions selected from 795 entries by a jury including Jody Quon (New York Magazine), Phil Taylor (George Eastman Museum), Diane Smyth (British Journal of Photography), and Robert Morat (Robert Morat Gallery, Berlin). I have also received scholarships to attend the Eddie Adams Workshop, the Canon & VII Gallery Workshop with Christopher Morris, the TPW Masterclass with Stanley Greene, and the 2025 StrudelmediaLive Opportunity Scholarship.

The session combines practical guidance, examples from real applications - including successful submissions - and clear strategies for building strong, competitive applications.

Râsu'-plânsu' Interventions

In-person workshop for galleries, museums, libraries, festivals, universities, and cultural institutions.

Râsu'-plânsu' Interventions is a workshop based on my photographic publication Râsu'-plânsu' and the ongoing intervention project of the same name.

The workshop begins with an introduction to the book and the ideas behind the project, exploring how people negotiate imposed structures through small acts of adaptation and personal expression. Participants are introduced to my own interventions before creating their own.

Each participant works directly with their own copy of the book, approaching it as a space for experimentation and intervention. Through drawing, painting, collage, cutting, gluing, writing, inserting elements, or other techniques, participants transform the publication into a unique object. Interventions may be temporary or permanent, subtle or radical, with complete freedom to develop an individual response.

The workshop is designed for 5-8 participants (maximum 10) and lasts approximately 2.5-3 hours. No previous artistic experience is required.

Teaching & Workshop Experience

Documentary Photography Workshop – Maramureș, Romania (9–13 August 2010)
From 9–13 August 2010, I co-led a documentary photography workshop in the Maramureș region of northern Romania, based in the village of Văleni, as part of Luczakowska & Ellicson Photography SRL. The workshop focused on developing personal photo essays about rural life in one of Europe’s most traditional and culturally preserved regions.

Participants stayed with local families and worked closely within the village environment, documenting everyday life and traditions. The programme included daily shooting, editing sessions, group discussions, and individual feedback, with an emphasis on storytelling, sequencing, and developing a coherent visual narrative.

Street Photography Workshop – Bucharest, Romania (4–5, 18–19 & 25–26 September 2010)
In September 2010, I co-led a series of three intensive street photography workshops in Bucharest, Romania, as part of Luczakowska & Ellicson Photography SRL. The workshops took place over three separate weekends (4–5, 18–19, and 25–26 September) and focused on developing street photography skills and visual storytelling in an urban environment.

The programme combined portfolio reviews, theoretical introductions to street photography, and guided fieldwork in the city. Participants explored Bucharest through daily shooting sessions, followed by group critiques and individual feedback. We also worked on editing, sequencing, and building coherent photographic narratives. The workshops included discussions on image selection and post-production workflow using Adobe Lightroom, with an emphasis on developing each participant’s individual visual approach.

In my professional work outside of photography, since 2011 I also regularly provide presentations and training sessions for both internal and external clients. Although the subject matter is different (IT processes and IT products such as chat implementation or hardware and software training) it gives me experience in teaching, working with different groups of people and adapting content to different participants.
