Râsu'-plânsu' in the British Journal of Photography

“Łuczakowska’s work excels in its sensitivity to these small, almost imperceptible signals. She photographs not simply what is present but evidence of adaptation within an imposed architectural order. A quiet, understated book, Râsu’-plânsu’ asks the viewer to slow down and look differently. Its power comes not from scale or completeness, but from the intimacy of its observations, which reveal how memory, identity and human resilience persist within spaces designed to transform them.

In a neat twist on the basic premise, Łuczakowska has also asked artists to adapt her publication, inviting them to add drawings or pages, or cut into existing images. Allowing the project to expand beyond her authorship, she has named this ongoing project Râsu’-plânsu’ Interventions, embracing a decentralisation of power – an anti-authoritarianism – that even extends to her own work.” - Mark Moore, The Brtish Journal of Photography (to read all the review, please follow the link)

So… I will not play it cool. I am super excited and left speechless. It’s my biggest achievement so far. I choose to celebrate my wins rather than diminish them. This review is a proof that it’s worth sticking to what is important to you.

My little, low-budget book Râsu'-plânsu' (“laughing through tears”), that was born out of the pain of fighting for my creative vision and authors’ rights was featured by the British Journal of Photography. ….and it all paid off! When one door close, another open. ALWAYS!

Thank you Diane Smyth for noticing this little, grey book and Mark Moore for understanding what the book is about and that the project brings to the book.

Many thanks to the people who supported me especially Maria Buszman, Jagoda Malanin & Jukka Male.
