Paper Photo Festival

This weekend I had the pleasure of participating in the Paper Photo Festival 2025 in Katowice.

PPF 2025 is a new international festival based in Katowice (Poland), which focuses on photobooks as an autonomous form of artistic expression, equivalent to exhibitions, multimedia projections, etc.

Quite unexpectedly, at the very last moment, I learned that applications were still open for an editing workshop with Rust Publishing House. I decided to try my luck, and to my delight, I was selected to join a meeting with the publishers, Kuba and Daria. The session proved extremely productive and insightful, offering valuable perspectives on photobook development and editorial processes.

Throughout both Saturday and Sunday, I immersed myself in browsing an impressive range of photobooks presented at the festival. Several of them left a particularly strong impression on me. Forever Mine by Anna Bedyńska captivated me with its emotional depth, intimate storytelling and beautiful design. In Praise of Shadow by Tomasz Kawecki fascinated me so much that it came home with me. I also found Encyklopedia by Weronika Gęsicka, a title that has already held a special place on my bookshelf for quite some time.

The festival offered a chance to reconnect with familiar faces and meet many new inspiring people who share a passion for photography and books.
