Exhibition at the SE Center

The photograph from my ongoing personal project has been selected for the Masks Online Exhibition organized by The SE Center for Photography.

The SE Center, founded in 2015, is a nonprofit exhibition and education space dedicated to the art of photography. In just a few years it has become an important hub for contemporary photography in the U.S., supporting fine art photographers through juried exhibitions, workshops, and portfolio reviews, while fostering dialogue around photographic practice.

This exhibition feels especially meaningful to me since the juror for the open call was Bootsy Holler - I’ve long admired Bootsy’s “Contaminated” and “Visitor” projects!

>> Masks opens 10/1 and will run in the SE Center Virtual Gallery until 10/31<<

I hold a portrait of my mother as a mask. I was her last caregiver, and she was the last of my family. She passed away three years ago, after a long journey through dementia… I rarely go to visit her grave, but I see her daily - in my gestures, my voice, my face.
