Contemporary Art and Design

I’ve officially completed the Modern and Contemporary Art and Design Specialization from The Museum of Modern Art! This online program on Coursera platform included four courses:

• Modern Art & Ideas

• Seeing Through Photographs

• What Is Contemporary Art?

• Fashion as Design

It took me a few months of steady learning to get through them all.

Each course offered a different lens on how artists and designers think, create, and respond to the world around them. I learned about materials, processes, and the cultural and social issues that influence art and design today. The lessons strengthened my ability to look critically and more thoughtfully at artworks, exhibitions, photography, and even everyday design choices.

I’ll admit, Fashion as Design was the most challenging for me. It required the most focus.

Overall, completing this specialization has been rewarding. I feel more equipped to engage with art and design in a deeper, more informed way - and I’m excited to bring these insights into my future creative work.
