As someone who grew up atheist in a Catholic country and later lived within Islamic and Orthodox Christian cultures, I’ve become drawn to the ways religion shapes everyday life. These photographs reflect a personal inquiry into the visible and invisible structures of faith — not as doctrine, but as social force.
I’m interested in the tension between belief as a source of meaning and its use as a tool of control — and in how this paradox unfolds across different cultures.
